Evans, GA --Mrs. Helen Frances Lofton Thigpen, wife of the late Louis Grady Thigpen entered peacefully into eternal rest Wednesday, May 27 following a very brief illness. She and Louis were married some 62 years before his passing in 2012. Memorial Services will be Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:00pm Platt’s Funeral Home, 337North Belair Rd., Evans, GA. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Fran was born in Jefferson County, GA to the late William and Marie Miller Lofton. She lived many places supporting Louis’ work, always focused on two things: her family and leading the children in the churches she attended to a deeper love of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Mary Carolyn) Thigpen of Martinez and Stan (Laurie) Thigpen of Spokane, WA. Also a part of Fran’s legacy are her grandchildren: Carolyn Thigpen (Jamie) Hodge of Evans, Daniel (Emilie) Thigpen of Walla Walla, WA, Megan Thigpen (Derek) Klassen of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, and Benjamin (Lindsey) Thigpen of Grand Forks, ND. Fran also leaves her sister, Janelle Lofton of Augusta; sisters-in-law, Naomi Thigpen and Ellen Thigpen Wren; special friend, Chip and Donna Woodall and family and many nieces, nephews and beloved cousins. She is predeceased by a brother, Bill Lofton.
