Catherine Loretta Feeney, 89, of Stoughton, formerly of Hingham and Canton, died on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at South Shore Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Feeney was a retired employee of the General Electric Corporation in Boston, and in later years assisted at the Canton Club daycare program in Canton. For many years she served as a volunteer Ombudsman for South Shore Elder Services in Braintree, helping to improve the quality of care that seniors received in hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Mrs. Feeney was a Canton resident for fifty years prior to making her home in Hingham and Stoughton. She was a parishioner at Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Canton, a member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club, and a member of the Canton Garden Club. She enjoyed interior decorating, creating stained glass artwork, and gardening.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Feeney. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Feeney of Fort Myers, Florida, and Ellen Whyte of Attleboro, and a son, Daniel Feeney of Canton. She was the sister of John Vesey of Stoughton, Margaret Davis of Hingham, and the late Mary Gallagher, Joseph Vesey and Thomas Vesey. She is also survived by two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Arrangements by the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, Canton, on Saturday, May 30th, at 9:30 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 700 Washington Street, Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday, May 29th, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
