Obituary


David P. Hayden, 70, of Whitman, passed away on Friday May 22nd unexpectedly at home.

He was born in Brockton, son of the late Carroll and Vivian (Dion) Boynton .He was raised in Whitman by his mother, Vivian, who remarried the late Robert Hayden. David has been lifelong resident of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson class of 1963, where he played football, baseball. He enjoyed his dogs, cats and playing and watching all sports.

David served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967, stationed in Libia , North Africa, Texas and Oklahoma as a Tele-type maintenance technician.

He worked for NE Telephone from 1967 and retired from Verizon in2001 after 33 ½ years as an “Outside Plant repairman” out of Brockton.

David helped raise his son Jason Buzzee with his companion Georgia Baker, did a lot of Motor Cross racing with his son with NE.M.A.NESC and some Pro-Am, racing at Nationals with A.M.A.

He is survived by his son Jason Buzzee and Jason’s sisters and brothers. Colleen, Nadine, Alex and David Buzzee, his brother Richard Boynton.

His funeral service will be held on Friday May 29th at 12:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be on Thursday May 28th from 6:00-8:00PM.
