Jane Ellen Paulk Day, 72, of Chula passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Mrs. Day will be laid to rest at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Chula. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Day was born August 12, 1942 in Atkinson County, the daughter of Ira Paulk and Ellen Melissa Fletcher Paulk, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Don W. Day; a son, Heath Day; and a sister, June Ranson. She retired as an administrative assistant with Department of Family and Children Services and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula.
Mrs. Day is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Jo and J. W. Underwood of Chula; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Martha and Eddie Sklany of Tifton, Gloria and Larry Fletcher of Donalsonville and Charles Lee Day of Marietta; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
