Raymond C. Hall, Jr., 89 of Sandown, NH died Friday May 22, 2015 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Hall was born in Londonderry, NH on July 16, 1925 a son of the late Raymond C. Hall, Sr. and Marie (Lessard) Hall. He had resided in Sandown since 1976, formerly living in Littleton, MA where he was active in Boy Scouts and the Little League program. Ray was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy Class of 1943 and went on to serve from 1943- 1946 during WWII with the Army Air Force. He later graduated from UNH in Durham, NH in 1950. Ray was employed for the Webster Company in Lawrence, MA as vice president of purchasing. He and his wife also owned and operated Hall’s Nursery in Sandown for 25 years. He was a former member of the Tahattawan Masonic Lodge in Littleton, MA. Ray enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie S. (York) Hall of Sandown, two sons, Raymond C. Hall III and his wife Cheryl of Battleground, WA, and Thomas Hall and his wife Jeanne of Derry, one daughter, Kristen Sheehan and her husband Thomas of Amherst, NH, five grandchildren, Kate, Valerie, Rebecca, Jacqueline, and Alexander, two great-grandchildren, Camille and Naomi. He also leaves three sisters, Paulina Backman of Londonderry, Pauline Butterfield of Loudon, NH, and Barbara Therriault of Seabrook, NH, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Bertha Bourque and Marian Pratt.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Wednesday May 27, 2015 from 10 –11:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A memorial service was held at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5 Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 201, Bedford, NH 03110.
