Obituary


HOLLIS- William “Bill” Zukowski, age 66, of Hollis, passed away on May 22, 2015 at Southridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Biddeford after a period of declining health, surrounded by family.
He was born in Worcester, MA on Dec. 15, 1948, son of the late William and Helen (Tomasz) Zukowski.
Bill worked for many years as the building maintenance supervisor for Chestnut Place in Worcester, MA.
While living in Massachusetts, Bill was very involved with the Lou Gehrig Little League. He served as a manager, coach and vice president. Overall he was involved with the league for 25 years and was very devoted to all of his players, many of them still remember him today. He loved to help the players along with not only the game, but in their lives as well.
After moving to Maine, Bill and his wife owned and operated “Bill and Lynn's Ocean Inn” in Old Orchard Beach.
He will be missed by all of his family and friends in a way words cannot describe.
He is survived by his beloved wife- Lynn (Pike) Zukowski of Hollis; children- Michelle Painchaud, Kim Zukowski, Katie Nishan-Hartz, and TC Nishan; grandchildren- Tianna Zukowski and Bethany Painchaud; sisters- Mae Papazian and Tina Barris; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and players he coached.
A private memorial service will be held at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road in Buxton. A public celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Online condolence messages can be submitted at the funeral home's website, www.mainefuneral.com
