Obituary

Anthony Paul DePietro, Olyphant, passed away Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Christine Kelly.

Son of the late Anthony and Ann Condel DePietro, he was a graduate of Scranton Prep, University of Scranton and Penn State University. Tony was a very devoted father, spending hours with his young daughter, Morgan, doing all the things she loved even if it meant feeding baby dolls and wearing princess crowns. They spent countless hours exploring science and nature. He would do anything to put a smile on her face. He was extremely proud of all the accomplishments of his daughter, Leah and bragged about her often.

He was self-employed in accounting. He was previously employed as a school counselor in a number of local high schools. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant, Pa.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed traveling and was involved in model cars and web design.

Also surviving are two daughters, Morgan Elizabeth, at home; and Leah Sweeney and husband, Jack, Gaithersburg, Md.; two grandsons, Logan and Grey Sweeney; an aunt, Peg Condel; and several cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Grace.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at noon in the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant Street, Olyphant. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore, Pa.
