Brother of the late Mary E. Keenan, Patrick F. Keenan, Edward L. McDonald and Kathleen Galloway. Loving uncle of Theresa Davis of Dorchester, John Keenan of Hanover, James Keenan of Franklin, and Patricia Fitzpatrick of IL. Dear friend of the late Alice M. McLeod. Also survived by many other nieces, nephews and friends.
As a Staff Sergeant and Tank Commander he served in General George S. Patton Jr.'s third US Army during WWII. He helped liberate France, Belgium and Germany. He helped rescue the stranded Allies at Bastogne and finished off the Battle of the Bulge. He was also among one of the first units to liberate the concentration camps in Bavaria, Germany. After retiring, James spent 10 years working at the concessions at Rockingham Park. He loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Monday at 9:00 AM.
Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM.
Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 PM.
Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
