Catherine T. Manion
..beloved mother, longtime Tewksbury resident; age 73
TEWKSBURY - Catherine T. (McKillop) Manion, age 73, an active member of Tewksbury’s
Senior community, died March 8th at her son’s home in Chelmsford, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Boston, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (MacInnis) McKillop. She was
raised in Dorchester, and lived in South Boston before moving to Tewksbury in 1961, most
recently at the Carnation Drive senior community.
In her earlier work career, she worked at Woolworth’s in downtown Lowell, and later at Wang
Laboratories on the Boulevard Facility in Lowell and North Street in Tewksbury.
She was an active communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, and was a member of the
St. William’s Sodality, and the Nocturnal Adoration Society.
Since retirement she was active at the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center and a member of the
Tewksbury Golden Age Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine T. Mendonca of Tewksbury, Barbara A. Russo of
Derry, NH; three sons, John J. and his wife Pamela (Walker) Manion of Litchfield, NH, Thomas
M. and his wife Lisa (Mulone) Manion of Chelmsford, and Michael J. and his wife Laura
(Pizzotti) Manion of Arlington; six grandchildren, Kristine Mendonca of Somerville, Stephen
Mendonca of Tewksbury, Thomas A. Manion of Chelmsford, Samuel, Grace and Isabel Manion
all of Arlington; four sisters, Sarah Dziubaniuk of Norwood, Florence Scott and Mary Sebring
both of North Carolina, Margaret Clarkson of Walpole; a brother, John McKillop of Nashua, NH; and many
nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late Mary Ann Manion; sister of the late Francis and Daniel McKillop;
and mother-in-law of the late James G. Mendonca Jr.
Her Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Mar. 12, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in
Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Oblate Father’s Infirmary Fund,
P.O. Box 419, Tewksbury, MA 01876, will be appreciated.
