Obituary

DIVIRGILIO, Dominic R. Jr., “Archie," Of Dedham, at home after a courageous battle with mesothelioma, May 20, 2015. He leaves his loving and devoted wife, Ann Praught and is survived by his son, Michael C. and his wife, Ulrike Kohler, M.D., and their children, Derek and Rebecca, his brothers Vincent, and Robert and his wife Elizabeth, sister, MaryAnn and her husband Carmen Broccoli  sister-in-law Jean, brother in-law, Stephen Praught , sisters-in-law Martha Praught, M.D., Mary Praught and her husband David Rozewski, Ellen Praught and her husband Matthew Booth, and Jeanne Praught of Dedham. Husband of the late Ann (McKeown) DiVirgilio. He also leaves many extended family members and close friends.

He graduated from Dedham High School and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, proud Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Fred T. Berry DD 858. He had a successful career working at the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission. Dominic was the past president of the Italian American Citizens Club in Dedham, past president of the Mass Society of Buffungoal, retired member of the Hyde Park Harley Riders, the Marco Island Riders, MICA Bocce Club, Society in Dedham for Apprehending Horse Thieves, Dedham Lions Club, Town Meeting Member in Dedham, and was on the Board of the Dedham Flower Shoppe. Dominic leaves his imprint on many cherished friends worldwide, his zest for life, laughter and love was endless.

Visiting Hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Thursday, May 28 from 6:00-9:00pm and again on Friday, May 29 from 3:00-8:00pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, May 30 at 8:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 9:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
