Worcester—Elmer W. “Snowy” Jones, 102, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Knollwood Nursing Home. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Grayce V. (Voller) Jones; 2 nephews and their wives, William and Vickie Crockett of Baldwinville and Allyn and Carol Jones of Worcester; a niece, Marie Kort of Knoxville, TN; a brother-in-law, Norman C. Crockett; and a sister-in-law Evelyn Crockett, both of Baldwinville.
He was born in Worcester, son of Albert and Nora (Chambers) Jones. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He and his brother Harry owned and operated the Edgemere Diner in Shrewsbury. He was a member of Park Congregational Church and was active in the 50-50 Club and the Fellowship Group.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 7, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. Please omit flowers.
