Obituary

Elsie M. (Vera) Taber, 86, of New Bedford died Friday March 4, 2005 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a long illness. She was the wife of Edward F. Taber.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Ida V. (Robitaille) Vera, she lived in Fairhaven for 28 years before returning to New Bedford in 1989.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed music, singing, and crafts. She was a very generous and giving individual.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mary Anne Martin and her husband Kenneth of Fairhaven, Eileen Cadorette of Dartmouth, and Patricia Anne Perry and her husband Stuart of Coventry, RI; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

She was the sister of the late Wilfred Vera, Thomas Vera, and Charles Vera.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday March 7, 2005 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday March 6, 2005 from 4-8 PM. Remembrances may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
