Marie D. Toppi, 82, formerly of Samuel Stone Road, North Scituate,died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Village of Waterman Lake in Greenville. She was the widow of Oresto J. Toppi,who was an Architect and dog fancier and with whom she collaborated with in Art and Sculptor.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert A. and Marie L. (Breard) Duhaime. She lived in Providence and North Scituate until 1948, when she made her permanent home in North Scituate.
Before her marriage, she worked at Brown University for 28 years in Administrative Computing. During those years, she advanced in positions from Administrative Assistant, Operations Manager and Assistant Director to Associated Director. She was nominated by Brown University as one of the Outstanding Women of 1983, awarded by the YWCA. She was a member of WAB (Women Administrators, Brown University), RAWDAC IRI Association of Women Deans, Administrators and Counselors) and a member of the Airedale Terrier Club of New England.
She was the sister of the late Reverend James Duhaime and Albert Duhaime, Jr. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph "Fran" Duhaime of Bristol and Gilbert Duhaime of North Scituate and her nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph’s Church, Danielson Pike, North Scituate. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation respectfully omitted.
