Vye A. “Gibby” Gibson, 73, a lifelong resident of Franklin, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dianne M. (Birmingham) Gibson for almost 53 years.
Born in Cambridge on January 23, 1942, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Pearl E. (Trenchard) Gibson.
Before his retirement, Gibby was the head of maintenance at the former Tage Inn in Milford for 10 years and had previously managed Replacement Auto Parts in Medway for over 30 years. Gibby had also owned B &G Automotive in Franklin many years ago.
Gibby was a lifelong member of the Franklin Elks Club Lodge 2136, the Diplomatic Club in Milford and the AmVets Post 495 in Millis.
He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Bonny Grimes and her husband Donald “Punk” Grimes of Franklin and Debby Gibson of Franklin and four grandchildren, Matthew Grimes, Krystal Kenny, Kristopher Kenny and Jimmy Gibson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 - 8 p.m.
