Gloria Wood, 84, of New Bedford died May 19, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas N. and Beatrice M. (Pittsley) Wood, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was formerly employed the the YWCA in New Bedford for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and trips to Foxwoods.
Survivors include 4 sisters, Doris Spooner, Jean Meier, Norma B. Machado and Eleanor Sherman, all of New Bedford; many nieces and nephews including Steven Machado of New Bedford and Dale Machado of Fall River.
She was the sister of the late Bernard Wood, Thomas Wood, Jr, and Florence Lade.
