Maria Fernanda Ferro, 82, of New Bedford died May 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness surrounded by her family.
Born in Santo Antao, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Anibal S. and Celeste (Oliveira) Ferro, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Jaime Wahnon of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Gloria Araujo and Fernanda Gonsalves, both of Dartmouth and Susana Oliver of New Bedford; a brother, Dick Ferro of Santo Antao, Cape Verde; a sister, Gabriela Marques of Brazil; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the brother of the late John Ferro and Ceasar Ferro.
Her private funeral service was held on Friday, May 22nd in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial followed in St. John's Cemetery.
