TAUNTON – Delfina S. (Soares) Teixeira of Taunton, wife of the late Anelce Teixeira, died at Morton Hospital on May 17, 2015.
She was 89.
Born in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alexandrina Soares.
Educated in the Azores, Delfina moved to the Taunton area many years ago and was employed by the former F.B. Rogers Company.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. Delfina enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.
Survivors include five sons, Frank, Domingos, and James Teixeira, all of Taunton, Charles Teixeira of East Taunton, and Joseph Teixeira of Wareham; five daughters, Alexandrina Costa, Eugenia Mendonca, Delfina Desrosiers, Lorraine Silvia and Mary Hill, all of Taunton; a brother, Joe Soares of Taunton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Joaquin “Jack” Teixeira, and sister of the late Frank Soares, Olivia Paiva and Maria Nunes.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, May 22nd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
