Lawrence - Geraldine (Sloan) Tumminelli, 87, of Lawrence, and a longtime Methuen resident, passed away on Sunday May 17th at the Colonial Heights Nursing Home. She was born in Derby, VT daughter of the late Beatrice (Lalime) and Gerald Sloan. Over the years Geraldine worked as a Service Representative for the Social Security Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services. In her free time she enjoyed puzzles, cooking, knitting, and many auxiliary activities with the Methuen Post 122 of the American Legion where she was a member for many years.
Geraldine is predeceased by her husband Anthony Tumminelli and is survived by a daughter Joanne La Casse and her husband Robert of Salem, NH, a son Michael Tumminelli of Rhode Island, grandsons Christopher A. Vasquez and his wife Tracy of Lawrence, Robert Tumminelli and his wife Carolina, granddaughters Barbara Ann La Casse of Methuen, Diana Nagel and Jessica Heber and her husband Derek. Geraldine is also survived by many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Geraldine is also predeceased by brothers Jack and Mark Sloan.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday May 21st from 4-7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Geraldine’s honor may be made to the American Legion Methuen Post 122, 200 Broadway Methuen MA 01844.
