Colombe B. Desjardins, 92, of Woonsocket died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Richard W. Dejsardins, II. They were married in 1946 and spend 32 wonderful years together until he passed away in 1978.
Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Leon and Ernestine (Decelles) Menoche. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life.
Mrs. Desjardins was employed at C. Ray Randall Jewelry as a floor supervisor for over 15 years. She previously worked at the Social department store and was also a hairdresser.
Colombe was a Girl Scout leader and den mother. She enjoyed reading, playing her hand at cards and enjoying classic movies including Shirley Temple. Family life and celebrations were at the center of her life.
She is survived by a son Ronald G. Desjardins and a daughter Juliette S. Desjardins both of Woonsocket. She was the mother of the late Richard W. Desjardins, III. She was the mother-in-law of Roseline C. Desjardins of Bellingham. She was the sister of Priscilla Paulhus and the late Ulysses Menoche and Lucrece Menoche. She is also survived by three grandchildren Rebecca, Danielle and Christopher and four great-grandchildren Ashley, Emma, Cassandra and Harrison and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 pm.
