Theo E. Arthur, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, February 28, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Arthur was born April 23, 1919, in Franklin County, Alabama, to the late B.G. and Susie Moon Arthur. He lived in the community since 1986. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. A former resident of Hollywood, Florida, Mr. Arthur was a retired carpenter and building Contractor. He was a 50-year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 1399, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was also a member of Crossview Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 99 in Fitzgerald, and a Mason.
Mr. Arthur is survived by his wife of sixty-three years: Edna Arthur, Fitzgerald; two children: Delores Gills, Fitzgerald and Emery Arthur, Orlando, FL; five grandchildren: Bobby Blum, Jennifer Hall, Scott Blum, Jason Blum, and Gary Gills, all of Fitzgerald; two step-grandchildren: Ashley Gilbert of Orlando, FL and Zachary Gilbert of Jacksonville, FL; four great-grandchildren: Mitchell Hall, Landon Hall, Bailey Blum, and Trinity Blum, all of Fitzgerald; and two step-great-grandchildren: Cameron Pope and Trenton Pope, both of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Sanford Arthur, Luther Arthur, and Roy Arthur and a sister, Effie Mae Hilton.
