Obituary



BUXTON- “Bud” Borden H. Reynolds, age 80, passed away at his home in Buxton on May 16, 2015.
He was born in Buxton on April 18, 1935, a son of the late Leon Sr. and Kathleen (Tubbs) Reynolds.
After attending Buxton High School, Bud went on to proudly serve in the Army National Guard.
He married the love of his life- Shirley and settled in Groveville. He was employed as a iron worker and was proud to have helped in the construction of Maine Medical Center and the Portsmouth Bridge.
An independent spirit, he opened a body shop at his home on the Hurlin Smith Road in Buxton and then opened the Groveville Garage on Turkey Lane. In 1977, he moved his business to Chicopee Road. This business, B.H. Reynolds and Sons Used Cars, is still operated today by his family.
Bud will always be remembered as a quick witted story teller who often said “Time and tide wait for no man”. He was a lover of motorcycles, and drove his Harley Davidson before it was cool to do so. His son Jesse said he could fly through shifting gears like no other rider. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp in Danforth.
Bud is predeceased by his beloved wife- Shirley (Kendrick) Reynolds; four brothers; six sisters; and a grandson- Andrew Borden Smith.
Bud is survived by his children- Jesse Reynolds and his wife Lauri of Buxton, Billy Reynolds and his wife Angela of Porter, Mona Reynolds of Buxton, Mary Lou Brown of Hebron, and Cindy Zappanti of Port Orchard, WA; step children- Barbara Kendrick of Gorham, Denise Mierop of Hiram, and Mo Perham of Buxton; brother- Douglas Reynolds; sisters- Estelle Weeman of Windham and Donna Bryant of Saco; twenty grandchildren; twenty one great granchildren; and hundreds of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held this Friday, May 22, at 1 PM at South Buxton (Tory Hill) Cemetery. Pastor Laura Holt-Haslam will officiate.
