John M. "Johnnie" Valtos of Scott Twp. and Dickson City, owner of Johnnie's Service Station, Dickson City, passed away at home on Saturday, May 16. His wife of 43 years is the former Barbara Darlak.
Born Aug. 21, 1943, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Peter and Pauline Kipikasa Valtos. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Olyphant. He owned and operated Johnnie's Service Station for 50 years.
He was a member of the Dickson City America Legion Post 665 and Kingsbury Lodge 446 F&AM, a 50-year sponsor of the Dickson City Little League and a founding member of the Dickson City Ground Hog Club.
He is survived by his children, Amy Valtos-Gretzula, Scott Twp.; Ann Tonti and husband, Jerry, Dalton; and Jonathon Valtos and wife, Holly, Holly Spring, N.C.; grandchildren, Ben, Abby, Jay, Samantha, Liam, Lukas and Mya; and brothers, Paul (Carol), Schnecksville; and Peter (Nancy), Jefferson Twp.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, Pa., with Mass at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church at St. John Vianney Parish, Montdale, Pa. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Twp.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Friends are asked to proceed directly to church on Wednesday.
