WORCESTER-Helen M. (Malonis) Kurshius, 85, formerly of 1060 Main Street, died Saturday, February 26th in Clark Manor Nursing Home after a long battle with Leukemia. Her husband Odma B. Kurshius died in 1966. She leaves a son-in-law, James H. Keirstead of Worcester, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. 2 daughters, Dorothy Keirstead died in 1994 and Barbara Thibeault died in 1997 and many brothers and sisters predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Michael and Mary (Gaidis) Malonis. Mrs. Kurshius was a homemaker who was an active member of St. Peter’s Church. She volunteered working for the bizarres at 1060 Main Street and enjoyed bingo.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1st in St. John’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA, 01701.
