Worcester – Roland E. Wood, 56, of Worcester, died on Thursday, May 14th in Spring Valley Nursing Center after a long illness.
Mr. Wood is survived by a brother Richard E. Wood Jr. of Spencer; three sisters, Christine Black of Worcester, Paula Nichols of Worcester and Susan Petterson of Virginia Beach, VA and many nephews and nieces.
Roland was born in Worcester, son of the late Richard E. Wood Sr. and Hedwig (Dziewietin) Wood and is also predeceased by a brother, Bruce Wood. He attended and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester in 1978.
Mr. Wood worked for many years at the former Parker Manufacturing Company as both a machinist and a set up man.
The funeral will be held on Monday, May 18th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 9 AM in Saint John’s Church 44 Temple St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 17th from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
