R. Eleanor (Maxwell) Ratte’, 87, of Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14th at the Blaire House of Tewksbury. She was the beloved wife of Roger J. Ratte and mother of Joseph Ratte, Joanne Culhane and the late Justine Ratte.
Born in Lawrence, Ellie was one of 12 children of the late Joseph and Jesse Maxwell. After graduation from Saint Mary’s High School and McIntosh Business School, she worked locally until her marriage.
As an active member of St. Augustine Parish on Tower Hill, Ellie had worked and served on every parish committee. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, son Joseph and his wife Linda, their children Joseph, Shawn, Julie and Keith, daughter Joanne, her children, Michael, Caitlin and Patrick.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Monday, May 18th, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. following the wake at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
