MILLBURY-Marjorie E. (Hatt) Anderson, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 12th. Her husband, Paul H. Anderson passed away in 1990. Marjorie leaves two daughters, Deborah Stockwell and her husband Jeffrey of Millbury and Marjorie Silun and her husband Stanley of Bristol, RI; four grandchildren, Shannon Bullock, Erin Donovan, Stephanie Stockwell and Daniel Oberist; five great grandchildren, Ellie, Hunter, Liam, Rylee and Grace; her brother, Charles Hatt of East Brookfield; her sisters, Julia Fox of Middleton, Edith Vail of Stafford Springs, CT and Beverly Christensen of Vernon, CT. Her sister, Elsie Tyz predeceased her.
Marjorie was born in Stafford Springs, CT the daughter of Vern and Inez (Douglas) Hatt. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, CT. Marjorie worked at St Vincent Hospital early in her career and over 30 years for the Worcester Visiting Nurses’ Association. Prior to becoming a Registered Nurse, she worked during WW II at Pratt Whitney in Hartford, CT.
Marjorie was a member of Bethlehem Covenant Church in Worcester. She was an extremely active woman and in her younger years was an avid downhill skier and traveled as far as Austria to test her skill. Marjorie also loved dancing, walking and exercising. She was a talented seamstress and was known for the beautiful outfits she made for the American Girl Dolls. She would enjoy summers at Lake Manchaug at the family’s summer cottage. First and foremost was spending time with her family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Marjorie will be held on Tuesday, May 26th at 11:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Covenant Church, 46 Greenwood St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in Marjorie’s name may be made to Bethlehem Covenant Church Memorial Fund, 46 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607 or to the Manchaug Pond Foundation, P.O. Box 154, Manchaug, MA 01526. Arrangements are in the care of LINDQUIST LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester.
