Angel Alligood Johnson, 42, of Irwinton, Georgia, formerly of Fitzgerald, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Hospice Atlanta at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, May 15, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Paul Curry, the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge, the Rev. Jay Moore, and the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born January 17, 1973, in Ocilla, Georgia to John D. & Bela Matthews Alligood. A 1991 honor graduate of Fitzgerald High School, Angel played clarinet in the band. She earned her LPN degree from East Central Technical College and her RN degree from South Georgia College in Douglas. She later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South University and was currently working towards completion of her Masters in Nursing from Walden University. Angel was the clinical manager for DSI Renal - Milledgeville Dialysis and was a member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association. She formerly lived in Fitzgerald and Cedar Grove and had lived in Irwinton for the past 4 years. Angel was a member of Gordon First Baptist Church and enjoyed working in the nursery. She loved her fur babies: Dixie, Maggie, Luci, Tink-Tink, and Sadie Mae and will be greatly missed by her many friends and family members.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Kevin Johnson of Irwinton; a son, John Michael Johnson of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Heather Nicole Miller of Vienna; grandson, Benton Miller; her parents, John & Bela Alligood of Fitzgerald; a brother and sister-in-law, John Brandon & Becky Alligood of Chauncey; and a niece, Diana Suzanne Alligood of Chauncey and Fitzgerald.
