Obituary

SHREWSBURY-Vincent F. Metivier, 82, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, February 24th at home. He leaves his wife of 32 years Barbara I. (Griffin) Fiske Metivier, 2 daughters, Donna M. Chanson and Diane M. Metivier both of Worcester, 2 sisters, Madeline M. Courville of Worcester and Theresa R. Nowak of Warren, a granddaughter, Darlene M. O’Connor of Auburn, stepson, Edward Fiske of Leicester, 3 stepdaughters, Ruth DeLuca of Worcester, Carol Froment of Grafton and Jo LeBlanc of Shrewsbury, 12 step grandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren, 1 step great-great grandchild, many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pearl (Courville) Metivier in 1969.

He was born in Millbury the son of John N. and Hattie L. (Noe) Metivier. He was a proud Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a very patriotic man throughout his life. Mr. Metivier was a machinist at Anderson Products for 10 years and previously at the former Worcester Press Steel for 20 years. He was a self taught archery enthusiast and won many awards at various competitions and he was an avid woodworker and animal lover.

The funeral is Monday, February 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, February 27th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
