Obituary

Bridgewater - Charles Robert "Blackie" MacKinnon, 72, of Bridgewater died Monday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a lengthy illness.

Born April 6, 1932, in Brockton, he was the oldest son of the late Charles A. and Edna S. (Knowles) MacKinnon.
Mr. MacKinnon was a truck driver for Real Tron Co.

A disabled veteran, he was in the U.S. Navy, where he served on the USS Sea Owl.

Mr. MacKinnon was a member of the Bridgewater Vet’s Club, the 49ers, Lincoln A.A. and Nevermore Motorcycle Club, and a 45 year member of Fellowship Lodge AF & AM.

He is survived by three daughters, Denise of Calif., Lauren of New Jersey and Cheryl of Florida; a son, Paul of North Carolina; two brothers, Roger F. of Florida and Scott D. and his wife Cheryl L. of Bridgewater; a special friend, Joan Banden of Gardner, Maine, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother to the late Kenneth R., Paul S. and Bruce D.

His funeral service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt. 18), Bridgewater, Monday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic service Sunday in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton, at a later date.
