Wynona Merritt, 63, of Wilcox County, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at Taylor Regional Hospital, Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be 4 PM, Thursday, February 24, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Danny Lovett and the Rev. Jacquelyn Horne officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 7:00 until 9:00, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Merritt was born November 9, 1941, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Walter Elijah and Rhonia Horton Tucker. She lived in Wilcox County for the past twenty years from Fitzgerald. Mrs. Merritt was a former supervisor at Fitzgerald Underwear, a former employee of Northside Hardware and former owner/operator of Rochelle Seafood. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by her husband: Robert “Bob” Merritt, Wilcox County; daughter: Julie Day, Wilcox County; son: Bobby Wayne Merritt, Rebecca; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
