Fall River – Robert A. Young, 60, of Westport died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Jane L. (Santos) Young.
He was born in Jacksonville, NC, son of the late George H. and Frances E. (Bosak) Young, and was a lifelong resident of Westport. A graduate of Westport High School and S.M.T.I. of Dartmouth, Mr. Young served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement he was an appraiser for a local bank and was also owner of several businesses in the area.
He was Past Master of the Noquochoke Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Westport, Past Patron of the Cortez Allen Chapter # 161 O.E.S. and Past Junior Grand Deacon of Grand Lodge of MA. He was recipient of the Joseph Warren Medal. A former schoolteacher, he also served on the Westport School Committee.
Including his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Dawn A. Young of Westport and Bonnie A. Blaney of Westport and a granddaughter: Laryssa Gagne.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday 5 – 8 P.M. with a Masonic Service by the Noquochoke Lodge at 7:00 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
