Susan Reneé (Duarte) Gonzalez, 53, born March 1, 1962 lost her battle to cancer on May 5, 2015. Reneé was married for 21 years to the love of her life Pedro "Petie" Gonzalez. Reneé loved cooking for her family and friends. Anyone who knew her enjoyed her quirky sarcasm and funny disposition. If you needed someone to tell you the truth about anything she was your girl.
She was the daughter of the late David A. Duarte, Sr.
Survivors include her mother Harriet (Fisher) Duarte; her husband Pedro "Petie" Gonzalez; a daughter Shawnta Duarte and her companion Miguel Guzman; a son, Tyson Gonzalez and his companion Tasia Lopes; a stepdaughter Misty and her husband Jay Gonzalez; and a stepson, Jeffrey Ransom.
She is also survived by a brother, David A. Duarte, Jr. and his companion Jessie Perez and six sisters, Darlene Duarte, Nicole and her husband Louis "Chops" Turner, Janesse and her husband David Galloway, Brittany and Danielle Duarte, and Sno Baker. She was also the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Tayel and Mekhi Guzman, Taj and Taya Gonzalez, Sincere Guzman, and Jayden Trinidad. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving and caring friends.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday May 16, 2015 from 9-11:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her Funeral Service will follow at 12 Noon at the International Church of the Nazarene, 284 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Cremation will follow.
