ARTHUR L. "BUDDY" THUOTTE, age 83, of Hingham, died at his home on Saturday, Feb. 19th after a long illness. Mr. Thuotte was born, raised and educated in Brockton. He was a florist by profession and for many years, owned and operated Buddy's Oak Ridge Flower Shop in Brockton. He came to Hingham following his retirement 28 years ago and became an active member of St. Paul's Church. Mr. Thuotte was interested in the arts and was an accomplished painter.
He leaves his sister, Lorraine M. Vallee of Hingham, and was the uncle of Constance Glasson of Cataumet, Jay Glasson of Providence, RI and the late Edward Vallee. Also survived by his grandnephew, Keith Vallee.In addition, he was the brother of the late Shirley Glasson.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at 10 AM at St. Paul's Church, Hingham Square.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the ALS Association, Mass. Chapter,75 McNeil Way,Dedham, MA 02026 or to St. Paul's Church, 147 North St.,Hingham, MA 02043.
The interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
