Neil Elliott Rogen, 82, of Bluffton, SC died May 1, 2015 in Savannah GA after a long battle with illness. Son of Harry and Sylvia Rogen, loving husband of Elisabeth von Krogh Rogen, Neil is survived by his wife Elisabeth, his daughter Stephanie Rogen (Greenwich CT) his son, John Rogen (Bluffton SC) and his brother, Richard Rogen (Solon, OH). He is also survived by three grandchildren, William, Christopher, and Julia, all of whom live in Greenwich CT. Rogen was an inventor, an entrepreneur and a metallurgist with many patents in his field and numerous articles on materials engineering . A graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic and MIT, he was also a fellow of the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London. He was a member of the American Society Metals, American Institute Metallurgical Engineers, Sigma Xi and the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club. An avid learner and reader, he loved science and technology. He also enjoyed sailing, skiing and traveling with his wife. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held Tuesday, May 12 2015 at 11am at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Weston Massachusetts.
