Obituary

Helen G. Hamant, RN, 92, of Franklin died May 7, in her home.
Born in Franklin, April 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Whitaker) Hamant, Miss Hamant was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Miss Hamant was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1940 and a graduate of the New England Baptist Hospital, School of Nursing, class of 1943.
She had been a Registered Nurse at the New England Baptist Hospital for 43 years before retiring.
She had been the head nurse for many years and retired as Director of Nursing.
Among some of her notable patients were, Edward M. Kennedy, Raymond Massie, Clare Booth Luce and the Greek Archbishop of North and South America.

Helen had organized a very successful reunion for alumni of the school of nursing in Florida some time ago.
She was a member of the First Universalist Society in Franklin and had been an avid Patriots fan.
Sister of the late Elizabeth Snyder and Francis L. Hamant, she is survived by many friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 11:00a.m.
Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
