Miriam Claudette Hines, 80, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Pruitt Health of Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Tracy Clements officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Hines was born December 26, 1934, in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Ernest and Susie Champion Harper. She lived in the community for over 40 years and was a homemaker who enjoyed arts, crafts, and putting puzzles together. Mrs. Hines was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son: Gary Lee Hines of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Matthew Hines and Rebecca H. Howard, both of Fitzgerald; a great-grandson: Dante Howard of Fitzgerald; three sisters: Willa Sue H. Norton & Junior of Fitzgerald, Carolyn H. Harper & LaRue of Ocilla and Vivian Barrentine Masterson of Clearwater, Florida and a brother: Eddie Harper & Brenda of Osierfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon D. Hines, one sister and one brother.
