DRACUT - Eileen (Lawrence) Ivers, 87, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home where she resided, surrounded by her family.
Eileen was born in Lawrence on December 19, 1927 and was raised by her loving mother, Gertrude O’Leary Lawrence and loving sister, Rita Judge, who earned her angel wings just a short 6 weeks ago.
A graduate of Lawrence High, Eileen had a passion for softball in her younger years and it’s that shared passion that introduced her to her husband, William (Billy) Ivers. They were married for 52 years until his passing in 2000.
Eileen’s biggest joy in life was to be surrounded by family. She was happiest when family was gathered, had regular visits or placed weekly phone calls. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed sharing in their lives and stories.
Eileen enjoyed listing to the news every day and watching her investigative shows. One of favorite sayings was "you do the crime, you pay the time"; a saying used frequently if her grandchildren complained about a punishment from their parents. She spent a life time devoted to staying on top of current events and worldly affairs and enjoyed debating with family on political matters. She lived for her xl Dunkin Donuts coffee and daily phone calls to her sister, Rita Judge and best friend Jackie Hamel.
The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Michelle Montilla who helped care for their mother for the past 4 years.
Eileen is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Boshar Reynolds and husband, Steven of North Andover, Pamela and husband Edward (Bud) of Dracut, Kimberly and husband Chris of Londonderry NH; grandchildren, Melanie Garofalo and husband Richard of Dracut, Christopher Boshar of North Andover, Matthew Lawlor of Burlington, Isabella and Gianni Augusta of Londonderry; great grandchildren, Max and Mia Garofalo of Dracut.; and her beloved brother in law, James Judge of Lawrence who thought of her as a sister. She was also blessed with loving nieces and nephews whom she adored.
