Thekla (Dallas) Fourkas, 89, passed away May 1st, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Asprangeli (Epirus) Greece, and was the daughter of the late Christodoulos and Glykeria (Kapsokas) Dallas. She was the youngest of six children. Thekla was married to Charles Fourkas for 46 years before he passed away in 1995.
She is survived by her daughters: Linda Poulias and her husband John, Diane Vandal and her husband David and 5 grandchildren: Dean, Mary, Ashley, Sarah and Nicole. Her son Chris predeceased her in 2012. Thekla’s greatest joy was her family; always loving and cherishing the time she spent with her grandchildren. As a wonderful and caring wife, mother and grandmother, her quiet kindness was inspirational. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
She worked at Table Talk pies for five years, when first coming to America. Subsequently, she worked as a clerk at Chess King, for 20 years. In addition, she was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where she was an active member of the Philoptochos Society, Epirotic Society and Senior parishioners group. She greatly enjoyed cooking and volunteering for the church’s Grecian Festivals.
The family would like to thank JHC hospice for their compassionate care.
There will be no calling hours and funeral and burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St, Worcester, 01609. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting with arrangements.
