Carole A. (Garbarino) Kalberer, 75, of Franklin, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Wayside Hospice / Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland. She was the beloved wife of Russell J. Kalberer.
Born in Framingham on October 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Roger Garbarino and Fanny (DeMaria) Brown.
Mrs. Kalberer was a resident of Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, Florida since 1980 and formerly resided in Bellingham. She graduated from Framingham High School in 1957 and attended secretarial school for one year.
Mrs. Kalberer was an extremely talented painter. She was an avid golfer and was a former member of Pleasant Valley Country Club and Framingham Country Club.
She was a former Miss Massachusetts Majorette in 1956 and taught baton twirling to young girls in Bellingham and also coached at Bellingham High School.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Mark Horan and his wife Rita of North Attleboro, two daughters, Donna Stearns and her husband Jeffrey of Falmouth and Lynne Steer and her husband James of Raymond, NH and two step-daughters Patricia Kalberer and her partner Louise Celidonio of New York City and Sally Wellman and her husband Arthur O. of Narragansett, RI.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sara, Erin and Amy Horan, Brian and Corey Stearns, Julia Steer, Carey Wellman, Nicole Wolfe, Leigh Wheaton and Kal Wellman, and her great-grandchildren, Connor and Maggie.
She is also survived by three sisters, Gerry Mercuri of Worcester, Karen Brown of Framingham and Deborah Murphy and Crown Point, IN.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m.
