Obituary

Margaret Louise (Pelley) Hunchard Cunningham, 91 of Franklin, Massachusetts, died on the late evening of May 3, 2015, at The Maples Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Douglas Cunningham and the late Joseph Hunchard.
Born in Twillingate, Newfoundland, Canada, November 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Pierce and Nellie (Earl) Pelley, Mrs. Cunningham was raised in Canada and had lived in Franklin for many years.
She had worked in the area textile mills as a stitching technician.
Margaret enjoyed baking, gardening, camping, playing cards and visits with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed driving her lady friends around the area in her prized Ford Crown Victoria.
She is survived by her children, Betty Guy and her husband Alonzo of Bonavista, Newfoundland, Robert Hunchard of Potter Valley, California, and Bruce Hunchard and his wife Gwynne of Franklin, Massachusetts.
She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Robert, Denise, Christina, Elizabeth, William, Daniel, and Joseph and his wife Cydney,, Christopher and Lynne Kilroy and her husband Jeff and her 4 great-grandchildren Amy, Bobbi - Jo, Hannah and Ava.
Other survivors include her brother Melvin Pelley and his wife Brynhild of Montreal, Canada. Margaret was the sister of the late Hayward Pelley, Augustus “Gus” Pelley, Ada White and Allegra Guy.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7 in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 8:30-9:45 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Maples Rehabilitation Activities Fund, 90 Taunton Street, Wrentham, Ma 02093.
