Obituary

John L. Kuhn, 88 years, of Brockton, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at the Brockton VA Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dorchester, son of the late Charles and Mary (Rio) Kuhn. While in the third grade he moved to Portugal to work on his grandfather’s schooner, returning to Massachusetts at the age of 23. He had been employed at the Quincy Shipyard as a welder for many years, and then was employed as a carpenter and construction worker for various companies in the Massachusetts area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Hanson Gun Club where he enjoyed target practice.

He is survived by his son, James L. Kuhn of Brockton, 2 daughters Dolores A. Voisine of Plymouth, and Doreen A. McLeod of Scituate, RI, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Francis Kuhn, and Peggy Squartrito. Services will be held Tuesday at 2pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Arrangements by the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton.
