Maria Conception Rolon, 71, of New Bedford died Thursday April 30, 2015 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a long illness.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Luis Rolon and Angelina Rosado, she resided in New York for many years before moving to New Bedford in 1987.
Maria was a very giving person who opened her home to everyone. She took very good care of her daughter Lourdes throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Marlene Rivera, Miguel Serrano, and Jennifer Serrano; her sisters, Minerva Rolon, Isabel Villafane, and Myrna Rolon; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Miriam and Lourdes Rodriguez.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
