Obituary

Earl W. Hooper, 90, a lifelong resident of Medway, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Timothy Daniels House in Holliston. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. (Millette) Hooper for the past 40 years and the late Lillian (Costello) Hooper.

Born in Cambridge on September 18, 1924, he was the son of the late Marion (Apt) Moore.

Earl was a proud World War II Army veteran.

Before his retirement, Earl worked at Gamewell in Medway. He had previously delivered oil for Clark Shaughnessy Oil-Heating Co. and Coan Oil, Inc. for over 40 years.

Earl was a member of the Medway VFW Post 1526, the St. Joseph Men’s Club and the Pond Street Ringers. He enjoyed camping, playing cards, bowling and travelling and was an active member of the Medway Senior Center.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Carol Griffin and her husband Norman of Bellingham, Robin Ravida of Attleboro, Diane Hooper Albano of Delmar, New York, Stephen O’Neill of Medway, David O’Neill of Medway, Donna Cassidy and husband James of Medway and John O’Neill of Millis.

He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was the father of the late Robert and Daniel O'Neill.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Monday, May 4 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made in Earl’s memory to the Medway Senior Center, 76 Oakland St., Medway, MA 02053.
