Obituary

WESTBOROUGH: Angelina (Cardiello) LaFemina of Westborough passed away peacefully on April 28, 2015 at the age of 97.
She was born on April 7, 1918 in Brooklyn NY a daughter of the late Peter and Angela (Perillo) Cardiello. She was the youngest of nine Cardiello children.

Angelina lived most of her life in Wayland, Massachusetts. Her loving husband, Frank, died in 1999, three months short of their 60th wedding anniversary.

She was a loving mother of six children, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her family, in the old fashioned ways of Italian women of her generation.
Angelina was a superb cook, never compromising her talent by dining outside of the home, but instead always cooking for anyone who came into her family circle. She loved to play cards (Rummy and Pitch), revered the Miami Dolphins (Don Shula and Dan Marino especially), and developed the love of football through her three sons who played on Wayland football teams. She was a mentor and role model for her love of children, and opened her doors not only to her children, her grandchildren, but also their families and friends in time of need. She was often witty; she was spirited in her views on matters relating to family, and inspired that sassy, strong minded, self-confidence to all that were open to her teaching.
She leaves behind her children: Mildred Curtin and husband Paul of Littleton, MA, James LaFemina of Denver, CO, Frank della Femina of Westboro, MA, Angela Roberge King and husband Roy of Lake Mary, FL, Peter dellaFemina and wife Nancy of Readsboro, VT, and Donna Behmer and husband Clifford of Westboro, MA, as well as fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitations for family and close friends will be held at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 8:30 – 9:30 followed by a Roman Catholic Mass at 10:00AM at the Good Shepherd Parish at St Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland. Interment will follow in the LaFemina family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
