Edmond L. Owings, Jr., 84, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday April 29, 2015 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hawthorne, CA on June 6, 1930, a son of the late Edmond and Alberta (Cratz) Owings, Sr. Mr. Owings had been a resident of Derry for over 40 years. He worked many years in the oil and gas industry in Saudi Arabia before retiring. Mr. Owings was an avid reader, loved to fish and hunt, and loved to work in his garden.
He is survived by four daughters, Sandra A. DeCesare of Salem, NH, Janet L. Owings of Derry, Charlene E. Sardella of Maine, and Cynthia L. Owings of Derry; one son, Craig V. Owings of California; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and his loving cat Mr. Molly. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian E. (Mitchell) Owings in 2004, his son Edmond L. Owings, III, and his sister Betty Jean Linton.
There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
