Virginia I. (Hayes) Ferrara, 87 of Hudson died on Sunday, April 26th surrounded by her loving family at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westboro. Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Copeland) Hayes. She was the wife of 40 years to the late Joseph H. Ferrara who died in 2012.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Ann Campbell and her husband Michael and three grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Jacqueline, all of Pembroke. She is also survived by a step-son, George Ferrara of Hudson.
Virginia was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1945. She retired from Marlboro Hospital after nearly 28 years as the Executive Secretary, the last four years she served as the Head of the Medical Staff Library.
Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cribbage with friends at the Hudson Senior Center.
A service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Friday May 1st at 10:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial services will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlboro. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
