Charleen Faye (Tompkins) Austin, 96 of Anderson, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Waters of Yorktown following an extended illness.
Charleen was born on November 10, 1918 in Elwood, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Faye (Hook) Tompkins. She was employed by General Motors for 30 years. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, OES #154, and the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include her daughter, Deanna (Jan) Myers-Coppock of Warsaw, Indiana, 2 grandchildren, Ronald J. (Lisa) Myers and Shannon K. Worrell, both of Ft. Wayne; 3 step grandsons; Guy Dean (Susan) Austin of North Richland Hills, TX, Gary Gene (Debbie) Austin of Cullman, AL, Dean Austin of Houston, TX, 2 Step granddaughters, Dana (Dan) James of Anderson, and Gay Lynn Phelps. 10 great grandchildren: Brock, Gabe, Bryant, Shelbie, Jason, Jeremy, Brent, Natasha, Traci, and Brandi, 12 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie Austin and a stepson, Harold Austin
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10AM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Dennis Zirkle. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. An Order of the Eastern Star
memorial will be conducted at 7:30 PM Friday evening.
