Whitman – Dorothy B. “Dotty” (Nutter) Goodwin 88, died Monday April 27. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Goodwin.
Born in Quincy and raised in Whitman, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Nutter and the late Mary (Duncan) (Nutter) Leveillee and a graduate of Whitman High, Class of 1944.
She was a lifelong resident of Whitman, where she and her husband Bob raised their five children and had been active member of the Congregational Church.
She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and could be found chatting with family members or friends during “tea time” at her kitchen table. She truly loved her family and especially treasured the times spent with them at her summer home in Falmouth.
She is survived by her loving children Joan Holland and her husband Robert of Plymouth, Donna Coughlin and her husband Joseph of Abington, Janice Laham of Whitman, Diane Iverson and her husband Mark of Whitman and Robert Goodwin and his wife Tina of Halifax, and her brother Donald Nutter and his wife Marilyn of Whitman. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Forrest Nutter.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday May 2 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
