NORTH SACO- June Irene Johnson, age 88, of Flag Pond Road, passed away on April 28, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born in Portland on July 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Pearl (Crocker) Patnaude.
After graduating from Scarborough High School in 1943, June went on to work as a bookkeeper at the Portland Jetport, Unum, and at the family business- LENCO Inc., where she also served as the secretary. She retired in 1993.
She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and an active member of the North Saco Congregational Church. June will always be remembered for the pies and food she made for church activities.
June enjoyed dancing, traveling, reading and tatting doilies.
She is predeceased by her daughter- Linda Warrick Warner; siblings- Wilfred and Phyllis Patnaude; and a great grandson.
June is survived by her husband- Leonard Johnson; step children- Jeff Johnson of Lebanon, Mike Johnson of Saco, and Alan Johnson of South Berwick; sisters- Marilyn Geyer of Buxton and Lois Skillings of Falmouth; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 5-8 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt.22) in Buxton. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the North Saco Congregational Church. A reception will follow at the church hall, next to the church.
