A. Dale Richardson, 90, of Anderson died on April 28, 2015 at Lynd Place Assisted Living in Muncie following an extended illness.
He was born on September 30, 1924 in Fayette County, IL to Ora Roy and Averilla (Rush) Richardson.
He graduated from Brownstown High School in Brownstown, IL. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a carpenter and was employed in building maintenance at Guide Lamp for 10 years and retired in 1988. He was a member of Park Place Church of God where he served as an usher. He was former president of Brownstown Golden Years Club and member of East Side Community Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and working.
Survivors include his 5 children, Patricia (Glenn) Cox of Yukon, OK, Sheryl (John) Maier and Barbara (Don) Kuhl both of Anderson, Polly (Micheal) Thompson of Alexandria, and A. Dale (Kari) Richardson of Muncie; 2 sisters, Leatha Crosier of Bloomington, IL and Edith Garrett-Koleno of Lake Wales, FL; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Richardson; daughter, Deborah JoAnne Surface; 2 brothers, Arlo and Harold Richardson; and a great-grandson, Travis Maier.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 4:00pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Micheal Thompson officiating. The visitation will be from 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2:00pm (Indiana time) and 1:00pm (Illinois time) at Sidener Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be given to: Vandalia Church of God building fund in Vandalia, IL.
